From the desk of Principal
Sibani Mandal Mahavidyalaya is the only Govt. aided college for higher education in Namkhana Block under the district of South 24 Parganas, West Bengal. It has been set up in 2013 on a plot of land admeasuring 5 acre by the side of National High Way towards Bakkhali. The atmosphere surrounding the college attracts everyone very much particularly for its locational advantage and scenic beauty. At present the college provides Honours Courses in Bengali, Geography, History, Sanskrit, Political Science and Education, and General Courses on English, Zoology, Botany and Chemistry.
Though it is a new college, it has already acquired a good reputation in the locality with the active cooperation of both the members of teaching and non-teaching staff apart from their cordial relation with the students. Seminars on various subjects organised by the college as well as the different programmes undertaken by the NSS become glorious and grand success with the spontaneous participation of the students and the teachers of the college.
In fact, the students from Namkhana, Kkakdwip, Patharpratima and its adjoining areas get admission to this college. Namkhana is a coastal island and the waterways between India and Bangladesh passes near the island. Hence, the area plays a vital role in maintaining national/international relationship. Taking into account of this aspect, the college, with the help and active support of the Government of West Bengal and University of Calcutta, is finding its way to flourish by imparting proper education on the students of this area of great import.
